Welcome to the home of LetsFightCancer!

This website aims to raise awareness of the events that a group of friends have run in order to raise money for a small Midlands based charity called Get A-Head, who raise funds to help fight head and neck diesease. Feel free to have a lot around the site and see what we do in order to help this great cause.

This site also aims to act as a resource for others who are attempting to ride from Lands End to john O'Groats, which was one of the events the team have undertook. There are maps, descriptions of the routes, equipment lists, the diary and names of the roads we took to complete the journey in 9 days, covering 910 miles.

 

NEWS FLASH - On Wednesday 5th November, Helen (the reason why we support Get Ahead) received the best news she could get. She's beaten the cancer again! She's officially in remission again, and can now look forward to enjoying planning her wedding to Matthew and enjoying her new home. LetsFightCancer wishes Helen and Mat all the best for the future, they deserve it!! 

NEWS FLASH - The annual Get Ahead Charity Ball took place on Saturday 8th November at the Hilton in Birmingham. The event had a Moulin Rouge them with dancing girls, stilt-walkers, jugglers and the excellent group, Encore. The night was a massive success with everyone giving generously, especially Table 47! Much champagne and wine was consumed which definitely influenced the dancing on the stage which took place after the auction. We will definitely be back next year so if you want to go, get your tickets from the charity's website!  


NEWS FLASH - We have finally got a total for the amount we have raised from the bike ride...a pretty impressive £6200!!...and still rising.  We are really proud of this and thank everyone of you who helped us reach this total, whether you gave £2 or £250!  If you still want to help Get A-Head, visit the Donate pages.
